Happy Friday, Friends! It’s hard to believe that we’re already a week into November and Thanksgiving is just around the bend. I have to admit that I’m really excited for the holiday season this year, not in a rushed commercial kind of way, but in a languid, celebratory kind of way. For me, the season isn’t about just a few big days (which are usually way overrated), but rather are about a sprinkle of mini joys. We build more fires, light more candles and bake more pies. Jazz becomes our nightly soundtrack, winter squash and pumpkin make star appearances on our tables, hot cocoa becomes a staple, and I make a strong effort to go to bed earlier (one of the best joys of all).

That being said, this is also a hard time of year. We’re overrun with expectations of what the holidays should be (ahem “perfect”) instead of allowing them to messy and sad and exhausting. I just want to remind you that there’s no right or wrong way to do things as we step into the weeks ahead. It’s okay to do all the things, or to do none of them at all. While traditions are a great way to connect to our past and to each other, they’re also supposed to evolve, and it’s okay to let them go if they no longer serve you. My intention this season is to allow what shows up, rather than trying to force the holidays to look or feel any particular way.

New eBook

While I don’t know what the weeks ahead will look like, I do know that there will be cooking involved. Holiday foods are some of my very favorites, and I’ve therefore created an ebook featuring over 25 of my go-to holiday recipes, from appetizers, to sides, to desserts. Whether you’re hosting Thanksgiving dinner, going to a potluck with friends, throwing a New Year’s party, or staying home in your slippers, these dishes are fitting for any occasion. They’re also all naturally gluten-free, and most of them can be prepped ahead.

I’ve shared the introduction to the ebook below, and paid subscribers can download the book below for free as a thank you for making this newsletter and podcast possible—this work takes a considerable amount of resources to make happen, and it truly couldn’t happen without you!! The book will also be sent to anybody who upgrades to a paid membership through December as a thank you for your support. I’m currently offering a 20% pre-holiday discount on paid subscriptions for one year (the offer ends on Thanksgiving), if you’ve been thinking of joining! ❤️

Thank you

Thank you to all of you from the bottom of my heart for joining me on this journey over this past year. This newsletter has allowed me to open my heart in ways I never could have foreseen, and I’m deeply grateful to each and every one of you.
