Oof, I actually think that comment is harsh! But yes to embracing all our eras, and understanding that we would not be here without all our past lives. Also, not a fan of people being judgy online. You put effort into that post and if they don't like it, move on. It's so bizarre to leave comments like this. In DEFENSE OF HYPER NICKI!
YES!! This!!! So happy for this reminder to be kind to our past selves and for Nicki being brave enough to share this story but I'm shocked & sad that anyone thinks they need to send these kinds of messages.
Oh thank you, Hetty! It's so bizarre to me that people use their energy towards negative online comments - it's a sad use of our precious time, right?! Here's to the cheerleaders in our lives - the bright lights that help us shine. You're one!
Love everything about this. Amen to our past selves, growing, and perspective. You were so kind to respond as you did to that comment and it sounds like that resulted in her returning your kindness. Bravo! And I am definitely making these starters before Thanksgiving so I can eat them myself, lol.
Also, friend, you are braver than me and I love that about you. I'm going to be celebrating this: "None of us would be here right now if not for the past versions of ourselves—the versions that made mistakes, said the wrong things, had terrible haircuts, tried on different personas, conformed because it made us feel safe, held onto weird beliefs, let those beliefs go, and kept going and growing despite it all." XOXO
Oh Sarah, this is so sweet. It's funny because I've always seen YOU as being so brave and open. What a beautiful thing to mirror back to each other. Big hugs to you my love!
I’m so happy this was helpful Kristin!! It’s so hard not to care about other people’s judgements. My spiritual teacher once told me, “when you care about what people think of you, you become their slave.” I had that quote taped to my computer monitor for a full year. When we care about what other people think of us, we give them power over us. It’s ongoing work for sure. Sending you big hugs!

Okay I hate that message that person sent you but I love your generous and brave response. Loved everything about this!
Thank you so much, Christina (and I'm so happy to see you back on Substack!!... also can't WAIT to learn more about your book...)
Hi these sound delicious!
Can I ask what is the weight of a stick of butter? Asking from the uk! Many thanks
Hi Karen! One stick of butter is 113g. I will add that into the recipe!

Thank you so much, Betty. This brightened my day. Your comment about "returning kindness" really struck a chord. What a beautiful chain we can create!
