I loved listening to you two in this format!! How fun to interview your partner! You are both so creative and in tune with life and each other - a great pairing! I too like to let Dustin choose the dinner music, and its fun to match it with what we're eating (Moroccan Chill on Spotify + Shawarma Chicken is a recent fav!). I'm always and forever a jazz with dinner gal too. Love you both so much!

I love that Dustin matches the music to the food, and I can't wait to checkout the Moroccan Chill playlist! (Also, I need your recipe for Shawarma Chicken 😍)

Also, I love listening to instrumentals when I have a dinner party. So thank you James for your recommendations.

Nicki,

Your podcast popped up on a news source that I read. I listened to it and loved it! You have a great voice for radio.

Next time I’m cooking I am going to be present and focused. Two things I need to work on 😉

Great work!

I feel like our lives mirror each other. My husband is also a musician and just the other day we were in the car listening to Kruangbin - and I only know this because I kept trying to pronounce the name that was on the screen, ha! I also appreciated James' comment on consciously helping on another with certain tasks but also having more defined roles in others - that is very much the situation in our household and it helps from having to worrry about EVERYTHING. There are things I just know my husband takes care and I have those that fall onto my plate.

Amy, what an amazing connection!! I absolutely love this. What kind of music does your husband play? I will never be able to pronounce Kruangbin 🤣. As you mentioned about roles, I totally agree. By us both having things that we know are ours individually to take care of it frees us up (and prevents resentment). Thank you for sharing!

Absolutely loved this episode! You two were so fun to listen to, and it really got me thinking about how I connect music and food in my own life and with my family. I think one of my favorite ways to connect food and music is during prep time! My husband Eric and I love to put on fun tunes, pour a cocktail and get chopping and prepping!

PS we love James’s music and often listen while reading the Sunday newspaper and having a cup of coffee!

I love this! We always have music on during prep time as well. It helps me separate the moment from the rest of the day, and it definitely makes things more fun! Cocktails help too ;)

As James’ Mom, I do have to add that he was given more than hot dogs and peanut butter sandwiches! Sadly Micks is no more; I too loved their chocolate cake.

Great podcast guys! Loved hearing you both. James - mentioning Mick's brings me back to childhood too. I loved eating there too, of course. Thank you both for sharing. Really enjoyed it.
