Oh thank you, Sarah! I ended up changing the recipe a bit after that first batch, so this one is even better. I'm so glad you and your kids enjoyed! ❤️
Made the buttercrunch today and it is not only beautiful, but delicious! I am having trouble with my chocolate not adhering to the crunch as I am breaking it up. Any suggestions?
Hi Deb, I'm so happy to hear that you're enjoying the buttercrunch! I'm assuming it has cooled completely? I would let it sit for longer, to see if that helps. Also, aim for bigger chunks if you can. Please keep me posted!
I put the last half back in the refrigerator to see if that would help. It didn’t. I realized that it was the back side that was separating away which would have been the first side coated with the chocolate. I did notice there was some butter sweat on the top of the buttercrunch, so maybe that prevented it from sticking. I also let the buttercrunch cool at room temperature. I will definitely make this again and try dabbing the top and cooling it in the refrigerator before applying the first layer of chocolate.
I can't wait to try this recipe! The rose petals make it especially lovely. One question--cardamom or no cardamom? You mention cardamom in the instructions but it isn't in the list of ingredients? Thanks!
Hi Alana, thank you so much for catching that (doh)!! I had initially tested the recipe with cardamom, but it wasn't discernible so I ended up omitting it from the final recipe. I will make the update ASAP. (I'm my own copyeditor, so I truly value this kind of feedback.) I hope you enjoy the buttercrunch, and please keep me posted!
I can attest this buttercrunch is DELICIOUS!!! I had to force myself to share with my kids, it was that good!!
