Thank you for your reading suggestions. I’ve recently discovered the Irish poet John O’Donohue’s book of poetry, To Bless the Space Between Us. He’s gifted in finding just the right words to express the conversations of our hearts. I hope you find some light in his poetry also.
Oh Nicki, I’m so glad to hear it! I’ll be looking forward to your thoughts. One quick note, there’s a whole section of prose that is equally as moving. That section is titled To Retrieve the Lost Art of Blessing, with several sub-sections containing this discussion of blessing. It’s pithy and oh-so thought provoking in a profound and lovely way. Ultimately, my take-away is that it’s a beautiful discussion of community.
I really loved Sarah Copeland’s article! It was such a good reminder that having folks over for dinner doesn’t have to be a Broadway production. Our house, kitchen, and life can be messy but we can still enjoy a meal with friends without apologies.
Yes to all of it!! When we prioritize connection above all else (such as what the meal will look or taste like, how our house looks, etc), we can gather with so much more ease. ❤️
